KARC's current officers are as follows:

Chairman: Rick Deluco

Licensed KJ4HJP in October 2008 and received my General License November 2008. Issued my 1x3 vanity call of K4JTT in April 2009. I am an active member of the KARC, SEDXC and 10-10 International Club. I am a supporting member of the North Fulton, Atlanta Radio Club and the Margarita & Martini  10-10 Chapter.  I am involved with Cobb ARES and participate in teaching new TECH Classes. As a avid Yeasu fan and own a FT-950, FT-8800, FT-1802, VX7R, VX170 and a FT60. I have owned an FT879D and FT450 Rigs.   My Shack consists of Yaesu rigs which are supported by a LDG 1000Pro Autotuner, and a Ameritron 811H Amp.  My antenna system is relatively simple, which is made up of a 2m/440 Home made copper J-Pole and a Windom OCF 80-10m dipole. I enjoy the hobby very much simply because of the contacts and people I meet. I enjoy contesting and chasing DX.  In the short time I have been licensed, I have earned my ARRL WAS Certificate, eQSL eWAS and eDX  with a goal of achieving ARRL DXCC Honor Roll. Currently have worked 153 DXCC entities with 51 confirmed.  I actively use LOTW and eQSL.cc <AG> for all my QSL logging.

73, Rick

Vice Chairman: Lloyd Coursey

Lloyd was first licenced in 1987 and have always had the same call, KC4CSU. I had been interested in SWL, as a kid, but did not know any hams to help me along. I got involved with CB radio in 1975 and was very active for a few years but lost interest when it went down hill. I got involved with ham radio again in 1987 through a friend, Jim Nance, KE4WY and for the last 20 odd years it's been off and on until I visited our club in December of 2007. Ham radio has been great for me now at this stage of my life. I have always been interested in HF and VHF but in the last couple of years I have gotten into the digital modes and even Echolink and D-star. The most exciting thing though is the people I have become friends with through KARC.   I was born and raised in Atlanta, went to school at Gordon Military College, in Barnesville, GA and finished up at Ga. Tech in 1965. I have lived in Cobb Co. since 1967 and have worked for the same company for 46 years. My wife, Sharon and I have 3 children; Tom 42, David 40, and Jennifer 36. Five grandkids and 3 dogs.
We attend St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta.

Treasurer: Neil Foster

First licensed in 1960 as WA4OTO, when I upgraded to Advanced I was assigned the call KC4MJ. In 1986 I upgraded to Extra and when vanity licensing became available I became N4FN (my initials reversed) My elmer was an old friend Irwin Kane WA2VGM (now a silent key). I have been active in the Atlanta Ham community for many years having served as President of the QCWA, Atlanta Radio Club (twice), the Southeastern DX Club as well as other officers in those clubs. I served as the coordinator of ARRL VEC testing at GA Tech for several years (do not tell Lloyd KC4CSU of this lapse in judgement from a UGA guy). As an active DXer I have 329 countries confirmed. I am still interested in chasing DX but currently my main interest is in PSK. Of all the ham radio awards I have and there are a bunch, I am proudest of the Arabian Knights Award (number 568 in the world) and the Royal Jordanian Silver Award (number 191 in the world) from the Arabian Amateur Radio League and issued and personally signed by King Hussein of Jordan JY1, and The Commonwealth DX Award (number 332 in the world) issued by the RSGB. I also hold the British Class A call sign G0NBJ (my original call was G5DKW) having taken the British RAE years ago. I have also operated from 13 DXCCcountries. I am also a member of the DXCC Honor Roll. Like many hams I took a hiatus from ham radio for about 10 years, missed it and came back to our great hobby. The station at home is a Yaesu FT-2000 with the DMU and utune for 40/80 meters. For HF I utilize a GAP Challenger and a Fritzel (Germany) Windom antenna. For VHF/UHF at home I have my old reliable Kenwood TM-731. Actually I could use a wet noodle for an antenna since I can look up the mountain and see the repeater site. Dayton this year will probably have me looking for a 500-600 watt HF Amp and one of the wonderful Palstar tuners and Big Steppir vertical antennas. I also run HF mobile and use the FT-857D and ATAS 120A antenna system in my Honda. It really is a great little radio. I was shocked during the recent K5D DXpedition when I broke the pileup on 20 meters and worked them from the mobile. DXing is a blast!

Secretary: William Douglas

First licensed as N3RXS in March of 1994, I became interested in the hobby via a friend of mine named Tim Slaughterly. I moved to Atlanta in 2006 and joined the KARC in 2008 after the Hamfest. I upgraded my license to General Class in April of 2008. I have worked for many years in ARES and RACES while I lived in PA especially in the Harrisburg area and helped every year for 10 years with the TMI disaster drills. I looked forward as a new office and board member to helping KARC expand and bring in new members and take on new and exciting areas of our wonderful hobby.
